Hunters Specialties got its start in 1977 with a single product—No-Mar Camo Gun & u Tape. Today, our catalog of Serious Hunting Tools includes more than 500 innovative offerings.

One of the first products to put Hunters Specialties on the map was the highly successful Camo-Compac—multi-color camouflage makeup in a pocketsize compact with a built-in mirror. It instantly became a must-have for hunters and even the military. In fact, a custom-designed compact was used by American troops in Operation Desert Storm.

Hunters Specialties entered the booming turkey call business in 1985. In 1988, H.S. designed a superior diaphragm frame assembly called Premium Flex. Mouth calls built on this frame proved to be more comfortable than other mouth calls of the era and retained their shape and perfect pitch better over time. Today, H.S. Strut is one of the world’s largest and most trusted manufacturers of turkey calls.

In 1986, a team of Hunters Specialties researchers and wildlife biologists collaborated to develop a revolutionary scent-control product called Scent-A-Way. Since then, the company has continuously strived to improve the formula. In 2014, Hunters Specialties. unveiled the extensive Scent-A-Way Max line, including spray, soap, and laundry detergent. In 2016, the scent-control playbook is being completely rewritten with the introduction of Scent-A-Way Bio-Strike—the most effective odor-eliminating formula ever brought to market.

In 1998, Hunters Specialties purchased Wayne Carlton’s Calls, followed by Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls in 1999. These acquisitions enabled the company to enter the western big game calls and predator markets, respectively. H.S. continued to expand its product line with the inclusion of Vita-Rack wildlife management products and Buck Bomb.

Today, the Hunters Specialties’ line includes deer calls, archery items, and a wide variety of essential hunting accessories.
